| Summer Pottery Camp for Kids! New Friends, New Projects, More Fun! Session Dates: August 5 - August 8, 2008 10am-1pm The Pottery Piazza is offering an art-intensive summer camp that will feature specialized instruction and a variety of different projects in a group setting. Each day, campers will enjoy completing a variety of different projects with studio instructors that relate to pottery and mosaics. The special techniques learned as well as materials and glazes used will be more advanced than what is available to our regular painters when coming in to paint in our studio. click here for more information |
| Scrapbisquing Photos onto Pottery 101: $39- Dates: July 11th 6:30-8pm, July 23rd 6:30-8pm, August 15th 6:30-8pm This Workshop is geared towards helping scrapbookers transition to ceramics for their memory making needs by using Creative Images Ceramic Photo Paper, stamps, and various color combinations and design layouts. We will be making a scrapbisqued personalized photo frame as shown. Pre-registration with a $10 deposit (can be taken by credit card by phone) is required and workshop attendees will need to email a digital jpeg file of two good image quality (600 dpi) cropped photographs and a few simple words in fonts they'd like to use. Please email them at least 24 hours in advance. Attendees unable to email may bring their photos and words with them for scanning but must arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the workshop so we can scan them into a workable format for you. We will not be able to scan photos during the workshop time. Materials list for attendees to bring would be helpful but not required: scissors, rubber stamps. |
Designer Lace Plate: $18-
Date: July 9th 6:30-8pm
Learn how to use lace fabric to create an intricate looking but easy lace
pattern design on a plate. Once learned this technique is universal and
can be used on many other items in the studio- you could even make a
whole dinnerware set! Recommended for adults and kids ages 9 and
up--Patience is required as there is a little bit of drying time needed
between coats. Pre-registration is required.

| Paper Cut Coaster Set: $21- Date: August 20th 4-5pm Did you ever enjoy cutting snowflakes out of paper? Well if you did, you'll really enjoy this class. We will be using those same paper cutting techniques in combination with glazes to create a beautiful and creative coaster set. Recommended for adults and kids ages 9 and up--Patience is required as there is a little bit of drying time needed between coats. Pre-registration is required. |
| Rubber Stamp Mania: $18- Date: July 30th 4-5pm We will be learning rubber stamping techniques and applying them to a square flower vase. This class is for beginners or anyone who loves to rubber stamp. Recommended for adults and kids ages 7 and up--Patience is required as there is a little bit of drying time needed between coats. Pre-registration is required. |

| Star Spangled Banner Door Plaque: $18- Date: June 25th 4-5pm We will be making a beaded patriotic door plaque for Independence Day. They will learn sponging, tape masking, and basic wire beading techniques. Cost of the workshop includes all materials and firing. Recommended ages 6 and up. Pre-registration is required. |
| Children's Clay Throwing on a Potter's Wheel & Print Impression Plates: $20 Date: July 17th 4-6pm Children ages 4 and up can learn how to make a hand-thrown plate on a potter's wheel. This is a wonderful leaning 'hands on' workshop for children taught by Brian Murphy of Munsonville Potters, NH. He has over 20 years experience in the field and will help your child create a beautiful pottery plate on the potter's wheel and then press your child's hand in it. You are also welcome to bring babies or kids in and Brian, himself, will make you a custom keepsake plate with your child's hand or foot imprint in it. Space will be limited based on the requests for custom print impression plates vs. kids 'do-it-yourself'. The cost of the workshop includes the clay materials, tools, hands on instruction, and firing your piece to bisque. The pieces will be ready for painting within 2 weeks from the workshop date. Attendees will then pay as normal for the paint time to glaze and fire their piece to completion at their convenience. Custom painting can also be requested. Pre-registration and a $10 deposit is required (deposit can be taken with a credit card by phone). Adult's Clay Throwing on a Potter's Wheel - Casserole with Lid or Large Salad Bowl: $50- Date: July 17th 7-9pm Learn how to throw a casserole dish with lid or a large salad bowl on a potter's wheel! Space will be strictly limited to 10 students so sign up as soon as possible. This is a wonderful leaning 'hands on' workshop taught by Brian Murphy of Munsonville Potters, NH. He has over 20 years experience in the field and will help you to create a beautiful piece of thrown pottery. This is an introductory class and is recommended for beginners. The cost of the workshop includes the clay materials, tools, 2 hours of hands on and visual instruction, and firing your piece to bisque. The pieces will be ready for painting within 2 weeks from the workshop date. Attendees will then pay as normal for the paint time to glaze and fire their piece to completion at their convenience.
