4-Week Wheel Throwing Course |  Skill Building

Course runs on the following Wednesdays from 7-9pm:

September 3rd | September 10th | September 17th | September 24th

2-Hour classes, once per week, with complimentary open wheel session practice time*. An additional visit at your leisure may be required to glaze any additional pottery made past week 3 or made during open wheel practice sessions.

Includes: (4) 2 hour Classes, once per week with complimentary open wheel session practice time after completion of the second class during week 2-4 (with extra clay purchase option).

  • Week 1: 2-Hour Beginner Basic Wheel Throwing/ Skill Building Trimming and Cutting (make up to 2 pieces). Includes training on how to operate a wheel.

  • Week 2: Skill Build Session 2- additional supervised and guided wheel time Plus Stamped Impressions. (make up to 3 pieces).

  • Week 3: Making a mug with a handle and skill build session. (Make 1 mug or small pitcher plus one additional piece on the wheel)

  • Week 4: Specialty glazing techniques/ Glaze combinations. Glazing of pieces made in week 1-3. If time permits, additional supervised wheel time to make one last piece of choice (including a mug). (Paint time is additional at our regular rates to come back at your leisure and glaze any pottery made during week 4).

 4-week classes are $289* (plus tax) per person, with open wheel time during week 2-4. This course does not require you to have taken a single session class prior to the start of the 4-week class. This class is designed for the novice/beginner and day one we start from scratch. 4-Week Courses are held once a week for 4 weeks on the same day of the week and same time.

*For Students currently enrolled in a 4-Week course (who have completed the first two classes and are between the 2nd and 4th class in the course): You may also participate in open wheel rental- see below. Currently enrolled students will have their 2-Hour Open Wheel Session fees waived (regular $45* fee) but will be required to purchase clay at $5 per pound, paint time, and any other fees, as noted above to complete their pieces. Currently enrolled students eligible for open wheel time are defined as those who have completed the first two classes in their entirety until they reach the end of their 4 week course). Complimentary open wheel rental sessions include unsupervised wheel time during open wheel hours. Each open wheel session is scheduled in 2-hour increments. Your time on the wheel must be scheduled in advance to guarantee a seat at the wheel. You are limited to booking one session at a time. Once the first open session is complete, you may book your next open session. Each 2-hour open wheel time includes up to 45 minutes on the wheel plus 15 minutes active clean up to leave your space sparkly clean for the next person using the wheel.

*Additional Costs: Paint time when you come back to paint your bisque, for anything not able to be glazed during the Week 4 class glazing session,  will be charged at the regular rate of $4 per half hour with unlimited paint time at $10 for the day.

Group Special: A group of 3 people booking all 3 seats for this class at once (which creates a private class for your group) will each receive 1 FREE Unlimited Paint Time Session Card and a Set of 3 Glazing Brushes to keep (valued at approximately $25 each) upon arrival to class. The paint time session cards can be applied towards any paint time fees to glaze and fire your pottery or saved for a future pottery painting adventure.

Please note that classes and courses posted online are adult only session (age 18 & up) unless otherwise specified as a “family session/ FAM”. Family style classes are for anyone age 10 & up (It’s a mixed age group- kids and/or adults can sign up, including families taking the class together.  Children less than 10 years of age require a parent or guardian to also participate and purchase a class session for themselves. We generally do not recommend wheel throwing for children under 8 years of age).  BYOB is not allowed at family sessions.

Courses are limited to 3 students maximum. We reserve the right to cancel and refund any courses that have less than two students registered by the registration deadline. Registration deadline for the 4-week course is 72 hours prior to the class. Payment is required at the time of registration, no spots will be held without payment for any reason.
